CVE
CVE-2025-66478
CVE-2025-66478 was originally reported as a Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability in Next.js, caused by insecure deserialization in the React Flight protocol. The issue impacted frameworks using vulnerable React versions, including Next.js 15.x and 16.x with the App Router. Although the vulnerability was later rejected by the NVD as a duplicate of CVE-2025-55182, this rejection overlooks a critical detail: Next.js does not consume the vulnerable React code as a dependency, but instead rebundles (vendors) it internally. As a result, standard dependency-based detection tools fail to flag this issue in Next.js projects.
